CECIP GA Information

Thursday 23rd June 2022 2pm – 6pm

LMG (Legal Metrology Group) seminar. This is the people in CECIP who deal on a more practical level with the technical compliance and market surveillance. It will run from 2pm – 6 pm

 The topics are,

  • Market surveillance and verification in the UK from the Trading Standards Perspective – Phil Owens
  • Accessing the UK market – Ian Turner
  • OPC-UA for the weighing industry – Ulrich Rauchschwalbe
  • AWIcal guide – Matej Grum
  • Updates on OIML CS – Mannie Panesar

Thursday Evening 7 – 9.30pm

The welcome cocktail will take place on a Thames Riverboat in which we will cruise down the Thames to see the centre of London from the river. The boat will depart from Tower Millennium Pier (a 6 minute walk from the Tower Hotel) at 6.45pm and return to the same pier around 9.15pm. A buffet dinner will be served during the reception.

The agenda is still awaiting final issue (CECIP control this aspect of the event). At present there may be:

Friday Evening 6-45pm – 11pm

The gala dinner will take place in the Hall at the Worshipful Company of Cutlers. Coaches will depart from the Tower Hotel at 18.45. Upon arrival, pre-dinner drinks will be served.

The Worshipful Company of Cutlers is one of the oldest livery companies of the City of London and received its Royal Charter as far back as 1416. Its function was mainly to protect the interest of its members and ensure high quality standards. At first it focused on the business producing knives and swords, but later the focus changed and also included weighing instruments. Today the organisation mostly focusses on charity and maintaining the traditions of the City of London.

At the end of the evening (approx. 22.30) coaches will be available to transport guests back to the Tower Hotel.
